Area of Focus: Two forms of weight training: Strength (or power) weight training, which uses heavy weights and few repetitions (i.e., the number of times a weight is lifted or the muscle is contracted), and endurance weight training, which uses light to moderate weights with many repetitions.
Overview: (Provide purpose, student goal, and research supporting this project. Also include State Standards taught in this project.) Purpose: TSW engage in training and conditioning programs that develop the body to its fullest potential to meet the challenges of every day living. TSW learn various ways to improve muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular and eye-foot and eye-hand coordination. The workout will be designed to make students bigger, faster, and stronger by using the overload principle. In addition students as in the past, will work on improving their endurance through a program of aerobic exercise, such as agility drills, plyometrics, and running workouts.
Goal: TSW perform weight training and conditioning workouts that will involve all parts of the body to facilitate improvements body fitness. Also TSW demonstrate the ability to explain, answer questions about different lifts, what muscle is involved and the proper techniqu for each drill, and lift.
Plan of Action, Main Objective: The Students will demonstrate proficiency and the cognitive skills necessary to enhance motor skills.
Sub Objective: a. The students will demonstrate competency in at least three types of movement (quick steps, box jump, and 40 yd dash). b. TSW demonstrate the ability to use specialized knowledge to develop movement competence/proficiency. c. TSW demonstrate the ability to identify and characteristics of highly skilled performance to enable the development of movement competence/profeciency.

Lesson Plans: October 4th to December 19th Monday's-- Unity day short class periods. Speed intervals and phyometrics. Tuesday's and Wednesday's: Endurance Workout 8 to 10 reps
1. Bench press pyramid-(5-4-3-2-1-/1-2-3-4-5)
2. Incline-3x10
3. Upright-row-3x10
4. Tight grips- (go until you can't do any more0
5. Military press 3x10
6. butterfly's 3x10
7. Leg press- 3x10
8. Lunges- over and back 3 times
Thursdays and Friday's: Endurance Workout 10 to 15 reps
1. Repers- (10-8-6-4-2-1/1-2-4-6-8-10)
2. 21's 3 sets
3. Power cleans-3x10
4 Dead lift 3x10
5. Squats 3x10
6. Leg extensions- 3x10
7. Hamstring- 3x10
8. Calf raisers-3x10
If students are absent from class and its excused, they make up work by lifting either at lunch or after school. If students are unexcused, they have no chance of making the work up.

Pre-test scores for Weight Training and Conditioning were very low.
September 27th will be the beginning of additional drills and workouts to focus on my problem area's.
My Main Objective Project will take from August to April to complete. During that time my students will be tested on speed, flexibility, and Endurance. Testing approximately three more times.
